Coaching

DURATION:  Two days

COURSE OVERVIEW:
This is a highly interactive workshop designed to develop skills for helping people do their best!  Learn proven practical ideas for dealing with the everyday challenges of working with different personalities, different motivational needs, and the positive and negative behavior situations every supervisor or manager must handle with skill.

This approach to coaching helps organizations promote a coaching culture where leaders are comfortable addressing even difficult performance issues and contributors feel affirmed by the coaching process and invested in any development plans.  The approach offers a framework for planning and conducting coaching discussions that can help managers significantly improve comfort and effectiveness in resolving performance concerns.

TRAINING OBJECTIVES:
Participants will learn to:

  • Confront performance issues in a way that their people feel valued rather than put down.
  • Encourage people to be realisitic about their current state of readiness and prospects for success.
  • Uncover the root causes of performance gaps without resorting to second guessing and faultfinding.
  • Brainstorm measures to improve contributor performance without proffering up uninvited advice or brandishing personal expertise.
