Management Harassment Prevention

DURATION:  Two hours

COURSE OVERVIEW:
California State Assembly Bill 1825 requires Managment Harassment to be taken every two years.

This is a required training class for all County Management employees.  The term "sexual harassment" has gained popular recognition.  All managers must understand that there are specific elements that establish a claim of sexual harassment and specific actions they can take to reduce the County's exposure to lawsuits and liability.

This class examines the cognitive, affective, and behavioral components of sexual harassment.  The subject is one that arouses strong feelings, and participants will have an opportunity to examine and recognize those feelings, to evaluate situations of alleged harassment, and to take steps to lessen complaints.  This class should be taken every two years, unless there is a change in law interpretation or the County's C-25 Harassment policy changes.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
Participants will have the following opportunities:

  • Participants will examine the County's C-25 Harassment Policy.
  • Participants will have the legal definition of sexual harassment.
  • To differentiate between situations that satisfy the legal definition of harassment and those that do not.
  • To examine the different attitudes in the workplace based on gender.
  • To identify their own reactions and those of others to harassment.
  • To specify preventative measures available to a company to protect itself and its employees from harassment.
