Employee Harassment Prevention

DURATION:  Two hours

CLASS OVERVIEW:
This is a required training class for all County employees. The legal definition will be given during the class along with the County’s C-25 policy on harassment. Because this is a subject that arouses strong feelings, great care is given during the discussions to assure a free and open exchange occurs. The program will examine the specific elements that establish a claim of harassment. Procedures to report a claim of harassment will be defined. This class should be taken every three years, unless there is a change in law interpretation or the County’s policy changes.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
Participants will be able to:

  • Review the legal definition of sexual harassment.
  • Review and study the County’s C-25 Harassment policy.
  • To differentiate between situations that satisfy the legal definition of sexual harassment.
  • To identify their own reactions and those of others to harassment.
